1. Players must be at least 19 years of age and a resident of Yellowknife.
2. Registered number(s) belong to the player unless retired by written notice or email to the Knifer Cache Box (KCB). Numbers are not transferable.
3. It costs $2.00 for each entry into the draw. To enter more than once per week, more than one number must be registered. There is no limit to the quantity of numbers for which an individual may register and play.
4. Entries are for the current week, draw date as posted on the Knife Cache Box. Play every week.
5. The Knifer Cache Box (KCB) number sticker must be placed on Canadian currency and deposited in a Knifer Cache Box at a participating retailer or by subscription to win.
Acceptable Entries
5.1. On a $2 coin (preferred) or by subscription;
5.2. On two $1.00 coins (use two stickers, each with the same number and place one on each $1.00 coin).
5.3. If several numbers are being played, multiple number stickers may be placed on a bill. Note – If the quantity of number stickers on a bill multiplied by 2 is less than the value of the bill, the surplus will be considered a donation.
5.4. If several numbers are being played, and a combination of bills and toonies or $1.00 coins is required, the entire amount must be placed in a sealed envelope with number stickers attached to the back of the envelope.
Unacceptable Entries
5.5. Nickels, dimes, quarters and fifty cent pieces.
Disqualifications
5.6. If the quantity of number of stickers on a bill multiplied by 2 exceeds the denomination of the bill, the number sticker(s) bearing the highest number(s) will be disqualified.
5.7. If there are 2 number stickers (one on each side of a toonie or $1.00 coin) with different numbers, the toonie or $1.00 coin will be disqualified and considered a donation.
5.8. Any $1.00-coin, toonie or bill placed in a Knifer Cache Box without a number sticker will be disqualified and considered as a donation.
5.9. All numbers must be written legibly on the sticker. Numbers of questionable legibility will be reviewed by a panel of three KCB authorities. If the panel cannot arrive at a consensus, the number will be disqualified without recourse or redress.
6. The Knifer Cache Boxes are picked up each Tuesday. Each week’s draw cut off time is 10:00 AM. Any entries made after box pickup time will go into the next draw date indicated on the Knifer Cache Box.
7. Draws will be made at the Baker Community Centre each Tuesday at approximately 5:30 PM and the results will be announced on the KCB website, on Facebook, and at participating retail stores. Results are published to Cabin Radio and The Coffee Break News.
8. If the number drawn was not played there is no winner for the week and the prize rolls over to the following week.
9. To claim a prize, a photo ID and proof of age must be presented.
10. If the number drawn is registered to a person who played it while living but died prior to being advised of their win, the prize will be awarded to the estate representative as determined by civil law.
11. If a registered player dies their number/s must be retired
12. The KCB reserves the right to make changes to these playing rules without notice.
